Crew |
We are Léla & Walter Wegmann , both from Zurich
Switzerland
|
Walter,51,
is a licensed captain and a certified mechanic. He always has a
helping hand for other boaters, too! They call him, "Walter-will-fix-it".
During
a very cold and rainy summer in Europe in 1987, Walter went to the
Dominican Republic for a dive vacation . He loved it and stayed to open
one of the first European dive schools.
He
never stopped dreaming from the perfect Dive & Relax Vacation
solution. |
|
|
In
1991 he went to France and
bought the Belline ll. After customizing the Catamaran, he set
sail through the Biscay to the Mediterranean sea where he cruised along
the French coast, the Balearic Islands , Gibraltar and the Grand
Canaries . From there Walter and his crew set sails for a cross Atlantic
cruise .
They
had a wonderful quiet time across, and made landfall in the BVI's 21
days later. Walter and his crew thought they where the next
Columbus in Paradise when they found that the beer at Pusser's Landing
on the dock was only a nickel! (What they didn't know was they had
landed on a Thursday, when Pusser's Pub was celebrating a special "Nickel-Nite").

|
| Léla,46,
is more on the artistic side. She is a professional "Haute-Couture"
tailor, and worked for a French designer. Since her father is from
Greece, she went to Crete in 1987 and opened a beach restaurant &
music bar along with a boutique for Italian clothing.
|
|
| She
loves the sea and its bounty…traveled and worked throughout
Europe and the Mediterranean learning from her Greek and Italian
friends' "Mamas" a long the way. Spoiled with all the fresh
herbs and spices from the Cretan mountains, she enjoyed cooking for all
her friends.
|
|
Léla's
dishes have always this little special touch of art, as we love the
saying "we eat with our eyes"! The highlight of this was
in March of 2001 when the Food Network TV had a special report about the
"Treasures of the Caribbean" and came to film Léla in her
element. They filmed her provisioning in a little shore side shack
and preparing the catch of the day. You can find the clip by clicking
the Video icon.
Léla's
galley creations will provide you with a gastronomic treat from the
first day to the last .

| We invite
you to enjoy "Wining & Dining" with us.

Here
are some new pictures from your crew … with crew member SAMBA!
She loves being in the crowd and children. Some five minutes in
the evening she gets a little crazy and runs around the boat …
that’s about all on activity all day long. She is a real Grenadian,
and lives life the way the well known slogan goes:
“
Live slow sail fast “
